Simultaneous Separation and Recovery of Phosphorus from Aqueous Solution by Bipolar Membrane Electrodialysis

نویسندگان

چکیده

Recycling phosphorus from phosphorus-containing wastes and byproducts is a promising secondary resource. Steelmaking slag generated in large quantities as byproduct of the iron steelmaking industry, contains that could be possible Phosphorus can extracted into aqueous solution; however, concentration generally lower than other elements, causing problem for recovery. In this study, bipolar membrane electrodialysis was applied to separate recover solution. The reaction performance recovery were investigated. effect initial concentration, volume ratio, electric potential on process determined. Ion adsorption an anion-exchange during stages ion competition between H2PO4- OH- later are main factors affecting extraction efficiency. maximum ratio achieved 2.46, minimum treated solution 3.64 mg/L, which under Japanese effluent standard. general, has good concentrating recovering

Monopolar and Platinum Interfaced Bipolar Membrane Electrodialysis: Experimental Assessment Using Synthetic Salt Solution Heterogeneous Cation Exchange Membranes

In this study, polystyrene ethylene butylene polystyrene (PSEBS) was functionalized to prepare mono and bipolar ion exchange membranes. In the case of the bipolar membrane, platinum was used as the intermediate layer. NaCl solution of concentration ranging from 5 g/L to 25 g/L was used as the feed solution. A commercially procured ion exchange membrane made of polystyrene divinyl benzene was al...

In situ ion substitution of sodium gluconate: Comparison of bipolar membrane electrodialysis and electro-membrane reactor for producing gluconic acid

Based on the home-made cation-exchange membrane (CEM) and bipolar membrane (BPM), electrodialysis with bipolar membrane (EDBPM) and electro-membrane reactor with three compartments (EMR-3) were developed to achieve in situ ion substitution and recovery of gluconic acid (GLH) from its sodium salt. Physicochemical and electrochemical properties of CEM and BPM were studied to assess their...

Extraction of Acetaminophen from Aqueous Solution by Emulsion Liquid Membrane Using Taylor-Couette Column

A study on the extraction of Acetaminophen (ACTP) which is also known as paracetamol, from aqueous solution by emulsion liquid membrane process using Taylor-Couette Column (TCC) was investigated. An ELM consists of three phase system which are the external, membrane and internal phases. The external phase containing the ACTP aqueous solution to be treated. Basically, the internal and membrane p...

Boron removal from aqueous solution by direct contact membrane distillation.

The removal of boron from aqueous solution by direct contact membrane distillation (DCMD) was studied with self-prepared polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) hollow fiber membranes in the present work. The effect of pH, boron concentration, temperature and salt concentration of the feed solution on the boron rejection was investigated. The experimental results indicated that boron rejection was less ...

Recovery and Reuse of Hexavalent Chromium from Aqueous Solutions by a Hybrid Technique of Electrodialysis and Ion Exchange

The chrome plating industry is one of the highly polluting industries whose effluent mainly consists of chromium(VI). This compound is highly toxic to aquatic life and human health. The rinse water constituents reflect the chrome plating bath characteristics; generally dead tank wash water contains about 1% of the plating bath concentration. Other metals and metal compounds usually considered a...
